Virtual servicesWays we can work together
A large part of this practice is relational, couples working through conflict or distance, families adjusting after a separation or divorce, and people renegotiating what their relationships look like after a hard season. General individual support for stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions rounds out the rest.
Marriage & Couples Counseling
For partners; dating, engaged, or married, working to improve communication, rebuild trust, and move through conflict or emotional distance toward a deeper understanding of one another.
Individual Counseling (Ages 13+)
A confidential space to work through anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, self-esteem, and the everyday transitions that come with a life in motion.
Family, Reunification & Co-Parenting
For one parent and a child, both parents and children, or other family combinations, improving communication and working through conflict, life transitions, or behavioral concerns together.
Career Counseling
For job transitions, feeling stuck, considering a change, or managing workplace stress, clarifying your strengths, values, and next steps.
Get to know JakeYour therapist, not a rotating cast of them.
Jake is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan, originally from Macomb County. He earned his Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University in Chicago, after several years working in tech, before making the switch into counseling.
His first post-graduate role was with individuals and families involved with the Department of Child and Family Services at Chicagoland Professional Therapy Group. He's since returned home to Michigan, where he continues seeing clients at Adrian Counseling and Psychiatric Clinic alongside this practice.
He primarily draws on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Person-Centered Therapy, working collaboratively with clients to challenge unhelpful beliefs and move toward meaningful change, in a style clients tend to describe as calm and easy to talk to.
Outside of the therapy room, Jake's usually traveling, yelling at a Detroit sports game, or spending time with his wife, his dog Juice, and his cat Lilo.
